Many Local Authority and Housing Association stock is now being thermally upgraded due to increased momentum to achieve better energy efficiency and in many cases External Wall Insulation is chosen. Lawtech Ltd carry out this work regularly and Tamworth Lane is no exception.

The original façade of these buildings was of a rough cast render and therefore a scratch back render was specified as the finish. Due to its thickness the client wanted to minimise the insulation board thickness so that the overall finish would be manageable and practical to apply on site. Therefore a phenolic board was chosen as the insulation board as this can produce the same U value as many other boards with a thinner section.
