Lawtech Ltd were appointed by Oskomera UK in 2008 to carry out external wall insulation to 7 new tower blocks plus an energy centre. Built on the bank of the Grand Union Canal, 6 minutes from Heathrow Airport, it comprised 600 apartments, a luxury hotel, a spa complex, a swimming pool and retail units. Highpoint Village as it would be known, was the Lawtech flagship project for 2009.

Using a reinforced Alumasc swissrail system, approximately 13,000m² of mineral wool and EPS insulation boarding was installed to achieve a 0.18W/m²K U-value with BREEAM Class 1 rating and full compliance with NHBC.

Finished in a selection of white and grey ST Silkolitt Silicone renders, the most challenging aspect occurred on the nine-storey hotel block where the architect wanted a unique ‘picture frame’ detail. Constructed from expanded polystyrene and designed and built using movement profiles, the feature was constructed with sufficient flexibility allowing it to remain independent of the structure and capable of withstanding the significant wind loadings upon the building.

This NHBC award winning project gained further recognition in 2010, when INCA awarded Lawtech “Highly Commended” status for it at the annual award ceremony held at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Lawtech is one of the largest installers of external wall insulation systems across the UK with offices in Rochester and Glasgow. Lawtech is UKAS accredited to ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 and is an active member of both the NIA & INCA.

Lawtech is able to act as a Principal Contractor on multi million pound “green” retrofit schemes installing and managing multiple energy saving measures, and in addition as a specialist façade contractor working with other contractor partners. We are able to offer advice and assistance in respect to grants and funds schemes available under CERT, CESP and from 2013 Green Deal.
