The scheme consisted of the design and build of a mixed-use schem,e including a library and one stop shop (1700m²) at ground floor and first floor, a retail unit (400m²) at ground floor, and 82 residential units with both affordable (29) and private (53) units on the upper floors (5 storeys in total). The scheme was designed with a high quality sustainability rating, achieving a BREEAM ‘’very good’’ for the civic facility, and Code for Sustainable Homes at Level 3 for the residential.
The systems used by Lawtech were the Alsecco system (for the render and brick slip areas), timber cladding and Skia anti-carbonation coatings. The building was leveled plum by dubbing out areas and using laser levels to ensure a good quality finish. The anti-carbonation coatings were used to the newly constructed concrete soffits in the residential area. The overall finish is a white silicone render.
