Lawtech help to beat the vandals at local school
20th June 2011 - Evening Times Newspaper Article

We at Lawtech Ltd provided a great boost to a local school in the Toryglen area of Glasgow, when we donated £1,000 to help repair a vandalised garden.

The teachers and pupils at the Toryglen Autistic Unit were distraught when they found plants damaged, flowers torn and items stolen. Lawtech was carrying out a series of school seminars with local police and fire brigade officers highlighting the dangers of construction sites and highlighting the environmental benefits resulting from its £17 Million “green refurbishment scheme” in Toryglen when it came across the news of the damaged garden.

On hearing the news, our Glasgow office team arranged for the company to make a donation to the school so that repairs could be made, and presented them with a cheque.

Keith Laing (Contracts Director) said “Lawtech’s company ethos is “Building Greener Communities” and we can see no more appropriate project to support than this.”

We are currently carrying out a large-scale refurbishment contract at Toryglen to more than 1,000 properties in partnership with British Gas. The £15 Million pound scheme includes external wall insulation, PV panels, air source heat pumps, replacement windows, new heating systems, concrete repairs, loft insulation and many other measures. The contract is part of British Gas’s CESP Programme.

The Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP) targets households across Great Britain, in areas of low income, to improve energy efficiency standards, and reduce fuel bills. There are 4,500 areas eligible for CESP. CESP is funded by an obligation on energy suppliers and electricity generators. It is expected to deliver up to £350m of efficiency measures.

Lawtech is one of the largest installers of external wall insulation systems across the UK with offices in Rochester and Glasgow. Lawtech is UKAS accredited to ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 and is an active member of both the NIA & INCA.

Lawtech is able to act as a Principal Contractor on multi million pound “green” retrofit schemes installing and managing multiple energy saving measures, and in addition as a specialist façade contractor working with other contractor partners. We are able to offer advice and assistance in respect to grants and funds schemes available under CERT, CESP and from 2013 Green Deal.
