Lawtech Ltd help local resident with DIY SOS

When a call came from the BBC to help with a local family we were only too pleased to help. A chance to be on the television in DIY SOS (The Big Build) was too strong for many (including our MD – he’s the one on the left).
We provided our services for free over the course of a week. The property in question was a British Iron and Steel Federation House (BISF). These houses were designed in 1944 as part of the post-war strategy on rebuilding UK housing stocks. BISF dwellings were usually built as two-storey semi-detached pairs consisting of a steel frame, with the ground floor walls constructed in render and the upper level clad in a steel sheet.
The BBC show will be shown on 9th August 2011 and we will issue further updates after the show has aired.
