Dutch envelope cladding contractor have appointed Lawtech Ltd as the specialist sub-contractor for the insulated render system to Hayes Yard, Middlesex. Hayes Yard consists of 471 residential units, a 119 room hotel and a 127 room apparthotel. In addition to this, there is a significant area of retail to the ground floor.

 

Oskomera who have been appointed by the main contractor and client, Ballymore Properties will be undertaking the complete envelope package management. We have been involved in the design of the insulate render system paying particular attention to the detailing with the curtain walling, rainscreen cladding and window’s.

 

The project is constructed from a post-stressed concrete frame with lightweight steel frame infill panels. The required U Value is 0.20 W/m²K and this has been achieved by the use of 170mm EPS insulation. The main detailing point to this project was the inclusion of a 40mm drained cavity instead of the 15mm required by the NHBC to allow for the air ventilation ducts to be directed to the head of the window minimising the visual impact to the building façade.

 

With the insulated render due to start in March 2008 and lasting 18 months, adding to 13,000m2, this is another landmark project for Lawtech Ltd.
